(B,D)ĭay 04: Salzburg – Bercthesgarden / Eagle’s Nest We visit an impressive castle nearby and then continue to Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart. It is known that thirteen centuries ago the newly arrived tribes formed their political entity there, lost it later to the Bavarians and then the Habsburgs and only regained it twenty years ago. We cross the Slovenian – Austrian border and take you to the very centre of the ancient Carinthia, the region that holds a special place in the hearts of every Slovene. We bid goodbye to Ljubljana and head north, into the Alps.
Tonight we take you to sample some of the Slovenian cooking that blends the Mediterranean and the continental cuisine (B,D) Plenty of time to browse and explore on your own, shop, visit small galleries or just drink a beer at the sidewalk café. Admire the medieval city centre, the imposing castle above it, the lively farmer’s market and mingle with the local crowds. (D)Īfter breakfast, it is time to start exploring the capital of this tiny country with a local expert. At 6.00PM meet your fellow travelers and your tour director for a Welcome drink in the lobby of the hotel before dinner. Meet and greet at Ljubljana Airport and transfer to Ljubljana, the capital of the country.
